About
Us
Homeschooling Horizons Magazine is the
brain-child of Angie Blackman, mother of 4, and homeschooler since
1995. Upon discovering and lamenting the high cost of
homeschooling publications from the US, and the lack of publications
in Canada, Angie began Homeschooling Horizons in 1996.
Initially a small provincial magazine,
Homeschooling Horizons Magazine was presented to the nation in 2000,
increasing in size and quadrupling in distribution in just six months.
Within a year, the Blackmans were proud to announce that readers
spanned all ten provinces and two territories in Canada, as well as
many bordering states in the United States.
Along with her husband Peter, Angie
and a small staff, comprising of editors from across the country and
office administration, have provided Canadian home educators with
a quality Canadian publication like no other. Filled with
articles and projects suited to every angle of home education, their
goal is to offer encouragement and practical ideas for the
homeschooling parent.
